State-of-the-art forging technology with computer-controlled plants and equipment for the manufacture, heat treatment and mechanical processing of forgings for small to large-series production are the trademark of Schmiedag GmbH & Co. KG. The high degree of automation—program control, automatic handling and the application of industrial robots—guarantees an economical manufacturing process. Production comprises components with individual weights of 500 g to 500 kg.

Heavier forgings (to 3,500 kg) can be manufactured by our sister company Wildauer Schmiedewerke GmbH.

Our own stamp and tool shop deploys specially designed software and CAD/CAM systems prior to production. From construction to machine program steering, efficient IT equipment continuously monitors the dimensional accuracy of finished tools.

An extensive machine and equipment park is available for hot-working, equipped with automatic feed devices, pre-forming and handling equipment and industrial robots as well as heat treatment plants. These include high-performance presses and forging hammers, e.g. maxi and spindle presses exerting pressing forces of 16 to 45 MN, and drop-forging hammers with a work capacity of 28 to 320 kNm.

Mechanical processing is on CNC machining centres, chain-linked CNC processing machinery, CNC-controlled lathes, milling machines, drilling centres and friction-welding plants.

Ready-to-install components are fitted in the mechanical workshop.
